Announcing: The Record Jacket Corporation{Jun 15 2011}SAMO media and Standard Form are excited to announce the opening of our brand new joint venture, The Record Jacket Corporation. Our two companies share a history in the production of vinyl records and print, and now a great opportunity has come along for us to expand our abilities under a new roof.
With the purchase of machinery specifically designed to cut, glue and fold record products, we are now manufacturing high quality blank and full colour 20 point 12" record jackets in our new facility. These jackets are available exclusively through SAMO media and Standard Form.
We're proud to be one of only a handful of companies in North America operating with the capability to manufacture these items, and the quality has exceeded our expectations.
Stay tuned for a video of our machine in action, which we hope to post in the coming weeks. In the meantime, please get in touch with us (info@samomedia.com) for samples and pricing.

Exclaim Year End Lists & SAMO media{Nov 30 2010}Now that we're on the cusp of December, the inevitable year end best-of lists are starting to trickle in. The Exclaim lists are an annual tradition, and this year we've got quite a few SAMO-manufactured releases in the ranks. They are below:
POP & ROCK:
#4: PS I Love You - Meet Me at the Muster Station
#10: Women - Public Strain
#14: Broken Social Scene - Forgiveness Rock Record
PUNK:
#1: White Lung (we actually didn't press this one, but congrats to our own Gord Dufresne's label Deranged for hitting #1!)
#2: Burning Love - Songs For Burning Lovers
FOLK & COUNTRY:
#3: Jason Collett - Rat a Tat Tat
#4: Ghostkeeper - s/t
#5: Baby Eagle - Dog Weather
#9: Daniel, Fred & Julie - s/t
HIP-HOP:
#2: Shad - TSOL
SOUL/R&B:
#6: Bonjay - Broughtupsy
That's one in almost every category, excepting Metal and Avant-Garde. Which brings me to my next point : we do quite a lot of experimental records here, which is great, but not a lot of metal. Where the hell is all the metal? Are we not metal enough? I swear we're metal enough. Anyway.

EXCLAIM 2010 BEST OF LISTS
New member of the team!{Nov 02 2010}We're really happy to announce the latest addition to our crew, Gordon Dufresne!
Gord is the founder and owner of Deranged Records, responsible for some seriously classic Toronto records by the likes of Fucked Up, Career Suicide, Brutal Knights and tons more. In recent years, Deranged has expanded out to new territories, adding excellent power pop bands like Statues to the stable.
There's always a prolific stream of new albums and singles coming out of his BC headquarters, and SAMO has been proud to be a part of it as the supplier of all Deranged vinyl for the better half of this year. And out of that relationship, we find ourselves with a brand new project manager, well schooled on vinyl production from his own experience running Deranged since the late 90's.
With that, we give a hearty welcome to the newest member of the SAMO media team. Welcome, Gord!
